About Chityala Gurukulam

In 1998, when the then Honorable Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu visited Chityala, he asked the then ZPTC Shri Venkata Rao what the village needed. Shri Venkata Rao requested approval for a Gurukula school for the village. As a result, a Gurukula school was granted to Chityala, and the school was inaugurated in 1999. For the past 25 years, it has been educating thousands of students and serving society. The school, which started in 1999, operated with limited facilities in poultry sheds belonging to Shri Tirupati Rao for around 9 years. With the special initiative of Dr. G. Chinna Reddy, then Minister of Rural Development, a permanent building was constructed near the road, providing convenience for students, teachers, and parents.

Since 1999, the school has made remarkable achievements in academics, sports, and other areas. Our students have secured district-level and state-level ranks multiple times. The teachers here, past and present, have not only taught textbook lessons but also imparted life lessons, guiding students towards a respectable life in society. To date, 23 SSC batches have graduated from this school.

Since its inception, a total of 1,392 students have completed their 10th grade with 100% results. In 2016, the school was upgraded to an Intermediate college. In addition to academics, students here have shown exceptional talent in sports, often becoming champions at district and society-level games. At national and international levels, a student named Mohan won consecutive gold and bronze medals in the 200-meter sprint. So far, about 60 students have participated in national-level competitions in hockey, football, and athletics, proudly raising the school’s flag. Currently, there are 434 students in the school, with 37 students preparing for the upcoming 10th-grade public exams this academic year. The school is now staffed with 22 teaching and 8 non-teaching personnel.

Last academic year, our school was selected under the PM Shri program.
